Dinner Parties

01 — Upcoming Dinners

What's next at the table.

Seats at Fancy Plants dinners are sold through Tock, where dates appear as they are confirmed.

If you would rather have the dinner at your own table, that is what the rest of this page is about — write to me and we will build an evening around your room and your guests.

02 — The Experience

Are you experienced?

Fancy Plants curates connected dining experiences. Sit with friends, and meet some neighbors. Solo diners are encouraged — they often sit together, usually sharing wine.

The night starts with you being seated, with your friends or with new ones. I say hello and introduce the staff. I love telling you about the dishes as they arrive: the inspiration, the sources, the lore. Each dinner has some solid hooks and a few surprises you might not typically order off a menu. That’s alright. Channel your inner Anthony Bourdain and go along for the ride. We’ll take care of you.

I choose pristine ingredients and prepare them with care. This is the truffle brie arancini; this is the melon gazpacho with daikon prosciutto. Everyone enjoys the dish together, because we are all sharing one experience.

I want to create a wonderful feeling for you — for your health, your happiness, and your sense of community. Food, sex, music, and love are pleasures that transcend information. Machine learning doesn’t know how sweet a rose smells, or how juicy a peach.

03 — Eating Together

There's room for you too.

I’ve had the honor of hosting over five hundred social dinner parties. The moments people create over food and friends often transcend simple pleasure. A couple once met at one of my dinner parties, fell in love, and I catered their wedding.

I often suspect people like the quality of the people at these dinners even more than they like the food. If that were true, I wouldn’t mind. I love my favorite people even more than I love my favorite dishes — I love the friend who helped me build this website more than I love agedashi tofu. Why not have both? We try to make our food as wonderful and as diverse as the people who come to our dinners.

Eating together makes life better, and there’s room for you too.

When I look out at the dining room, everyone is connected. We are all sharing an experience, and we trust it.

04 — Past Dinners

A few of the tables we've set.

Food has always been a way for me to learn about people and culture, and I am forever curious and exploring. Much like a seasoned session musician who can play in many different styles, I have been hired with so many requests to veganize a special dish or a whole cuisine. I love treating each request as an opportunity to learn more about food, nature and people.

Over five hundred dinner parties, every one with its own menu. These are a few of them.
